I think I am hitting a stalemate when it comes to my riding. I don’t think within the past two months my riding has improved at all. A big part of that I think it the Kawasaki.
Before I bought the bike I told people I was looking at moving from a 4 stroke to a 2 stroke and they looked at me like I was retarded. Even after I got the KX250 and rode it I didn’t understand what the big deal was. Now that my skills have improved I am finding that riding the 2 stroke is seriously difficult at my skill level. In hopes of bettering myself as a rider I have posted the bike for sale on Craigslist and TON. I have asked for $2900 or a trade for a 250 4 stroke.

After taking two weeks off from riding, I have returned!!!! I know what you’re saying. How could I have left the sport knowing my absence would ruin it. Attendance records has dropped 96%, fans have committed suicide. All I can say is A playa has to do what a playa has to do. Nah mean?
After feeling like Robert Downey Jr in rehab I thought I may need to take a break. The break must have been a good thing because I was on my game today. Granted my game wasn’t quite good enough for the day track on ADV. So I stuck to working on my corner speeds on the Veteran/Beginner track.
After warming up I ran into this guy Dennis I met at CCCP a few weeks back. We have been riding MX bikes for about the same amount of time and our skills are about par with each other. Dennis suggested we race around the Vet track. We did and I must say it was a blast. I got more out of these runs then I have gotten in the past 2 months of riding my my lonesome. I felt pretty quick but no matter how much ahead I got he would always catch me in the corners.
Towards the end of the day I decided to jump onto the National track. I haven’t been able to get into a groove like the first time I rode it. During my last lap on the track I came up short on the Finish line and cased it. My head went into the handlebars pushing my helmet over my eyes. As my helmet got pushed up my googles ripped the hell out of my eye brows. Good times!

My four day weekend of sweet ass riding was just not meant to be. First I over did it on Friday leaving me sore for Saturday. Then, Ian and Tye flake out on me today.
I woke up today feeling good but kind of medicine head feeling. But I was determined to go out today. So I packed up the bike, dog and wife and headed out to CCCP.
Shortly after arriving I started booting up. Into strapping up the first boot I got seriously out of breathe. These are not new boots. They have been broken in and are easy to strap up. When I say easy think about how easy it would be to get into Tonya Harding’s pants. Yeah! It’s that easy. So there is no reason I should have been out of breathe. I didn’t really think anything of it so I went onto the track. Half way through my first lap on the night track I was really fucking out of breathe. I felt like I just ran a long distance. I just taking a break and getting back on the track and the same thing happened. With the shortness of breathe I couldn’t focus on keeping my heading up. So I was making mistakes left and right. Probably no more than an hour after getting to CCCP I packed up and left.
Maybe I am coming down with something? Did I maybe catch something after that night with Tonya Harding?

Around the half way mark yesterday I got the itch…not that itch. I am currently treating that one with topical cream. I am talking about the itch for riding. I knew just going for a couple hours after work was not going to scratch the itch I had. I felt the need, the need for speed, 4 days of it.
Right away I start looking at my team’s calendar to see if Friday and Monday were available. What do you know, only one person scheduled to be off. Boo Yaa! A short phone call later to my team lead and I had a 4 day weekend. 4 days of some sweet ass dirt bike riding.
This morning my ass was out of bed at 6:45 and the truck was packed up no later than 7:05. This is a huge thing for me. Since I have developed a strong dislike of my job I haven’t been able to get out of bed no earlier than 7:30. But if dirt bikes are mentioned we (Me and My Ass) can’t get up early enough.
After I dropped Alev off at work and made the normal stops for water and energy drinks I got to the track between 8:30-9:00. I geared up and took a few warm up laps around the night track. Just from my putting around I could tell that today was going to be a good day.
After I was warmed up and my muscles were bulging (No my muscles don’t really bulge. I just wanted to say bulging and this was probably the only appropriate way I could use the word) things were just…flowing. I don’t know how else to describe it. My speed was picking up on each lap, my body had a perfect stance and jumps were just passing underneath my feet. I was even getting good speed coming out of the sand turn. That is a huge success for me. I was able to keep up the good pace even after taking some long breaks.
Around 12 I called Ian and let him know that I was out at the track just in case Tye or himself wanted to join. Not sure why I was doing as I was pretty much done for the day. I also didn’t think he would say he would come out because, well he has a broken ankle. Nope! He would be out there in an hour.
When Ian got there I was completely out of energy. But I felt the need to ride anyway. How often is it that I ride with anyone. Broken Ankle or not I couldn’t help make sure I was going faster than him. By the end of the day I was dead tired.
I think I may have just screwed up my 4 day riding weekend. I am going to be hurting tomorrow.
