It’s Here

Today has been like christmas…but in June. We picked up the STi this morning and bought the new dirt bike tonight.

It’s a 2004 Kawasaki KX 250 and this is going to be the thing that kills me. I am planning on taking it out to the track tomorrow night for some get to know you time. Who knows I may even take it out to dinner and a movie. Maybe even a little tail pipe action? Stay tuned for the hot steamy XXX pics!

Weigh-in

They initial weigh-in is….drum roll please….213.2. Fuck!

Holy God I have gained a little over 20 pounds since January. I will update y’all with the weight every week. Already this week I am down to 209.0. I will see if I can keep the momentum going. The ultimate goal is 155. I will not be waiting to reach that goal in order to compete. As soon as my riding skills are strong enough I will sign up for the nearest race.

That’s all for now. Have fun!

It seems like things are not moving at the pace that I would like them to. So far this week I have only made it out to the track once and that was on Monday. It also looks like it may be a little while before I can pick up a bike for racing.

Anyway, I went out to Cross Creek Cycle Park on Monday. It took me a while to get used to the bike as I haven’t been on it for awhile. After getting re-acquainted, I did a few laps on the Beginner track then moved over to the Night track.

The 230F’s weaknesses really showed on the night track. As I would come out of a hairpin turn the bike would struggle to get up the jump. Once I did get up the jump I caught like 8 inches of air! Beat that McGrath! God I can’t wait to get a race bike )

I start weight watchers tomorrow morning. I think this is going to be my fifth or sixth time back to them. But I have more motivation now than the initial time I went. I am also planning on getting a membership to Clay Madison for the gym facilities. Once I get into a groove I will get a membership to Gold’s.

Next update I will post my initial weight and keep it updated every Saturday.

I need to find some riding partners. Anyone out there in the Austin area that wants to ride during the week let me know.

I love you all.

New Direction

I have decided to take this blog into a different direction. Currently I have been using it for a web gallery and posting random bs blogs. Now, I will use this as a place to record my transition into Motocross racing. This is a dream of mine and has been since I was 13.

Just recently I purchased my first dirt bike, a 2006 Honda CRF 230F. The reason for selecting this bike was because of the ease of use, low maintenance and I didn’t think I would ride motocross. But I was wrong, I have since rode some moto with the 230F and I love riding motocross!

In order for me to be able to compete there are a few things I need to get working on. The first thing, I need to continue practicing my riding. I don’t want to jump into a race situation and kill someone or myself.

Secondly, I need to lose some weight and start working out (ugh!). However, I don’t think working out on my own will help. From doing a lot of reading it looks like guys just go off and start lifting weights and doing random things that don’t help out. I brought this up at work today with Clint and he offered his services to help train me. I told him on top of weight training I need to do alot of cardio preferrably on a road bike. Now I just need a gym membership.

The last thing I need (even though its not really the last thing) is a motocross bike. The 230F is meant if anything to be a trail riding bike. It lacks the power and handling to compete with the guys that race. My current plan is to pick up a 250cc but I will continue looking for information on beginner rider races.

Just to give you some perspective on how difficult this whole thing may be, many pro motocross and supercross racers retire around 27 years old. I am 26 years old. So stay tuned for my journey into Motocross racing.
