I think I jinxed us with the ‘GTO is gone’ post. In the post I listed the following:
1997 Honda Prelude - still kicking

This must have pissed off the car gods because shortly after we started getting a huge humming noise from the transmission in the Prelude. We found out the its the planetary gears in the transmission and it needs to be taken apart and replaced. $$$$ In the same week as this started in the Prelude, the 1500 lost its brakes. We haven’t really figured out if we are going to fix the Prelude or buy something else. We just don’t want a car payment.

So the painful lessons in how to ride a motorcycle continue. Yesterday I decided to take the bike around the block because I hadn’t ridden it for a week or so. All is going smoothly until I get into our driveway. Thinking I was in neutral I chopped the throttle so the bike wouldn’t die. Big Mistake! As I lunged towards our pickup truck I quickly realized I wasn’t in neutral. I hit the truck and then seemed to hit the ground and bounced onto our sidewalk. I now have a huge gash (haha I said gash) in my leg, that took forever to stop bleeding, and a rattled head. Today I feel sore as hell and am completely out of it. I was talking to a co-worker and it was a huge effort to put together sentences. If the pain and confusion don’t go away by tomorrow I will go to a doctor to get things checked out. I also think I will put the dirt bike on hold until we get back from Mexico. I don’t want to be on my honeymoon with any broken limbs.

I went out to CrossCreek this past Wednesday with Ian and rocked the shit out of the beginner MotoX track. Yeah I said beginner track!

I have been riding 100% trails since getting the bike and this was the first time jumping the bike. It handled really well but it is on the heavy side. Can’t wait till the next time.

Papa’s got a brand new bag..a Honda CRF230F dirt bike bag! For the past three weeks Alev and I have been going out to Cross Creek Cycle Park and for the past three weeks my day has ended earlier due to not having the right tools or breaking a part. fucking trees! My riding skills are improving but I am still giving a little too much love to that front brake while turning.
